Hi Everyone,
Here is a link to a quizlet that will help you to practice factoring trinomials. When you are there, you may work on the flashcards, the learn feature (but check off the see term first option as in the picture below), the test or the scatter, or the space race (but check off the show term on the bottom option).
(For learn)
(For space race)
I hope this helps you.
Take care,
Mrs. Roberti

Extra-Credit (What do you want to be?)
Hi Everyone,
So, my almost 5 year old son made my day yesterday. He said, "I want to be a math teacher when I grow up". Awww, right!?
Of course, it made me feel proud. But it also made me start to think about the future. What could I do to help him achieve his dreams? I know that he probably will have about 10 more careers that he wants to try before he finally picks. But, no matter what that career of his choice is, I want to be able to help and support him in anyway I can, because he is important to me.
Why am I telling you this?
Well, you are my students and you are important to me too.
I want to know - what do you want to be "when you grow up". At your age, you may have things narrowed down and you might have specific plans. You also might not have any ideas yet - and that is okay.
I want to hear what you think. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What can I do to help you achieve your dream?
Just wondering. Go to this padlet that I created and tell me your plans.
I have to go now and solve some equations with my little mathematician.
Take care,
Mrs. Roberti

By dissecting a cockroach ... yes, live on stage ... TED Fellow and neuroscientist Greg Gage shows how brains receive and deliver electric impulses — and how legs can respond. This talk comes from the TED-Ed project and is a little freaky but really captivating!

TED Talk #6
Hi Everyone,
Here is our next TED Talk link.
"We spend so much time listening to the things people are saying that we rarely pay attention to the things they don't," says poet and teacher Clint Smith. A short, powerful piece from the heart, about finding the courage to speak up against ignorance and injustice.
Thanks,
Mrs. Roberti

Exponential Equation Activity Algebra 1
Hi Everyone,
Here is a link to a ThingLink that I made to help practice solving exponential equations with the same base. You will solve the equations under the numbered spots and match them with the answers under the letter spots.
Everyone should match up so you can tell if you have the right answer or not.
We will do this in class, so you don't have to do it until I tell you to.
Thanks, Mrs. Roberti

Essential Skills #8
Hi everyone,
Some students are coming to see me in order to make up their standards from the essential skills mini-quizzes.
Which is great!
BUT, I wonder, how many of you actually take the time to look at the resources that I send you during the week of the quizzes?
If you did you would find a lot of great material: websites (for those of you who learn by seeing), videos (for those of you who learn by hearing), and practice worksheets (for those of you who learn by doing).
That's right, I try to give something to everyone!
Please take the time during the week to look at these resources so you will be better prepared for the mini-quizzes on Fridays. You would be surprised at how much a 100 for a mini-quiz (especially week after week) will help your average.
Here is the link for some great resources for Essential Skills #8 (about slope-intercept form):
Of course,
I would be happy to help you in your preparing anytime after or before school.
Take care,
Mrs. Roberti
